Author Life

FROM STROKE SURVIVOR TO AUTHOR

Paulo Coelho once said that we need to start acting otherwise one day we will have no more time to do the things we always dream of. Countless times, I heard that life after a stroke would be different. They suggested adapting to my new reality, but I refused to let disabilities dictate my limits. It was only after my stroke that I realized my childhood dream of writing a book. Writing has always been my solace since I could read and write. Documenting my journey with the stroke helped me accept what happened and view life differently. I have a newfound joy I never experienced before the stroke.Despite the pain and distress of my stroke, I have experienced tremendous growth and resilienc...

Bold Journey Interview with George Davis

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on? Right now I’m just living. That’s a long way from existing. Currently I don’t know my title. I don’t want to put myself in a box. You could say I’m a published author with five books. Or a business partner who just closed a deal to sell products with Walmart. A fashion designer starting another clothing brand called LA Beasta or most recently a liquor distributor with his own bourbon releasing soon. Really though I’m someone who doesn’t limit himself to circumstance or situations. Even though I have all these titles I sti...

How life experiences have contributed to The Summer of the Ennead - Part 2

Is it any wonder that I did not know how to write clearly? I had completed my first master’s degree and had just begun my second, when, finally, a professor very candidly told me that my writing stunk – my word. So, I asked him if he could help me. He could and he did, and I never looked back. What I had lacked was a disciplined approach. Thankfully, he taught me that...

How life experiences have contributed to The Summer of the Ennead

Introduction. At the end of the Afterward and Acknowledgments section of The Summer of the Ennead, I wrote, “This story is the result of the life I have lived. It would not have happened had I not lived it the way I did with both its successes and its failures, and I could not have imagined it at any other time in my life.”In that short passage, I acknowledged the power of failure in my life; failure can be a great teacher whereas success tends to make us complacent. I am sorry for my failures, but I am grateful for what I have learned from them. I also know that I could not have imagined it at any other time of my life because I had tried and until January 2022, it just was not ready to ...
