I am Rosemary Morris a multi-published historical novelist. My novels set in Edward II’s reign, Queen Anne Stuart’s reign 1702-1714, the Regency era and mid twentieth century are published by BooksWeLove. (In future I plan to write books set in other eras.)

The protagonists are confronted by problems common today. For example, a traumatised soldier with post-traumatic stress syndrome, long before the condition was diagnosed, a widow coming to terms with her tragic past, a girl desperate to find out who her parents are, and from multicultural backgrounds.

My love of classic historical fiction, non-fiction and visiting museums and other historic buildings, resulted in writing fiction rich with historical detail.

The more I read about the eras my novels are set in the more fascinated I become, and aware of the gulf between the past present. Our ancestors shared our emotions, but their attitudes and way of life were different. An example is the social position and treatment of women and children in in bygone ages.

My characters are of their time, not men, women and children dressed in costume who behave like 21st century people.

Researching my chosen eras, sparks my imagination. The seeds of my novels are sown, and from them sprout the characters and events which shape their lives.

My novels are sensual but the bedroom doors are never opened, and they are more than pretty moonlight and roses.
