I am Stuart Land, a multi-talented artist with a diverse background in creative pursuits. As a novelist, I've written 14 books across various genres, including paranormal, sci-fi, crime, action, speculative, thriller, and horror. “How to Write Dialogue,” by Matt Posner, includes samples from several of my novels. I spent years as a fine arts sculptor. As the years moved ahead, I worked as a costume designer, modeling agency art director, fashion show designer, water feature designer, and top sculptor/designer for special effects, sets, and props in Hollywood and Beijing, with over 30 major Hollywood films and 5 in China. And as a sculptor for hotels and theme parks worldwide, like Disney World and Universal Tours. In China, I did a lecture tour across 10 cities about make-up effects. While working on films such as “Aliens,” “Predator,” “The Abyss,” “Poltergeist 2,” “Beetlejuice,” “Independence Day,” and many others, I began screenwriting. I sought creative insight from actors, directors, and was mentored in film directing and producing by industry professionals, and have made student films and a horror movie trailer shot in Thailand. I’ve written 20 screenplays, won grand prizes in contests, and had screenplays optioned. My story ideas and inspiration draw from world travel, fascinating careers, and incredible people.
