Danny is a nice, but somewhat shy boy who often dreams scary dreams of monsters staring at him. One of these monsters is a Jack-In-The-Box nodding in a menacing manner. 

What's worse is that Danny begins to feel that EVERYBODY - even the moon, the neighbors and so on - are watching him. Now, how does he get rid of that kind of delusions - and what about those who really set out to get him?

Nobody believes that there are monsters in the room of the teenager Sybil. However, when she wakes up, very scared and beyond herself with fear, night after night, it is because she really sees scary monsters. Very often she has to sleep in the bedroom of her parents because she is too scared to stay in her own room.

However, when her very level-headed cousin has to stay with the family for some time and she too sees scary monsters it's no denying the fact that, whatever it is, something weird is going on. After some investigation the family finds out that several people were murdered in that particular room and that some of the "monsters" are the ghosts of their restless souls.
