Which character do you enjoy writing the most as a writer and why? If choosing a favorite character is like choosing a favorite child, which character do you find requires the most attention and detail from you as a writer?

My favorite character is the creative mind. I love writing about detailed scenes full of creativity.

What are some books or authors that you would recommend to our readers?

A fan favorite is my book titled "Blessed with Ducks: A Real-Life Story" about some mallard duck eggs that were left in my flower bed. God gave us these little guys to take care of and in turn bring blessings of joy and smiles to our hearts.

As an author, what critique has been the most challenging for you to receive? On the other hand, what compliment has been the most rewarding?

It was hard to hear that some people wont read my books because they don't want to get to know me. None of my books are about getting to know me but instead getting to know God.

My best compliment was someone feeling the tug of Jesus at there feet after they read my book.

Share some advice for aspiring authors. What advice would you give to your younger self?1. What is your favorite line from your book?

From the beginning my wife gave me a compass with the inscription "Write the books God lays on your heart". This has been what has driven me to write every book I have written.

What do you like to do when you’re not writing?

I have always loved going to the pool. I have a snorkel mask and when I am under water it feels like the world fades away and I am at peace.

Was there anything you had to research for the book?

Many long nights sitting with God and asking what books I should write. It was not a journal but instead wisdom from God for other people.

Did you have any say in the cover design?

I was the creative inspiration in all my covers for my books.

Did you always want to be an author? If not, what did you want to be when you grew up?

It is kinda crazy because I never wanted to be an author until I lost my job of 13 years as a computer programmer. My identity was my job instead of Jesus. Than God lead me to become an author and write what he tells me to write.

How long did it take you to write this book?

Blessed with Ducks: A Real-Life Story took 6 months of photography and 2 months of writing.

Monochromatic Mind took 20 years of photography and 1 year of writing.

Warrior for God: One Man's Journey with Jesus took the longest to write because it is an omnibus of 3 books so total time was 4 years.

Where do you like to write? In a coffee shop? In your home office? On the beach?

I have an office at home with the computer in front of a window. I look out into a forest of trees and find it to be very peaceful. If I get stuck I sometimes take a walk through the woods and clear my mind so that I can continue to write.

Do you listen to music while you write? If so, what kind of music do you like to listen to?

I have tried this in the past and have found music to be distracting. What has worked for me is sitting out on the patio talking to God. If I get overwhelmed I sometimes go and lay in bed asking God to help me write what I am suppose to write.
